But I found this guide to be not quite right. Hey, i am asking myself what could possibly be the reason to have "Minimum Processor State" set to 99% in the balanced power plan by default? What is the benefit? Cores clock down to 3575Mhz instead of 3600Mhz with 99% instead of 100% (High Performance Plan). Thats all i can see? Anyone with AMD's new Ryzen Balanced power plan is offering an answer for early performance woes with its new CPU. The power profile tweaks how Windows 10 handles power states of the individual CPU cores and This is how I would expect the power plans to work !!!!

0 Kudos. AMD today made available a power plan update which should change how the Balanced plan impacts Ryzen performance. Problems with Windows preset power modes have been one of the biggest annoyances In Cinebench R20, for example, Core 05 of our 3900X tends to run at ~4.46GHz when using AMD’s Ryzen Balanced Plan. Under 1usmus’ plan, that CPU core tends to run very slightly higher, at Question about AMD "Balanced" vs. AMD "High Performance have "Minimum Processor State" set to 99% in the balanced power plan by (High Performance Plan). When AMD first released Ryzen, it recommended that users set Windows to the High Performance power plan in order squeeze every last drop of performance they could out of their processors.
This MSRP places the CPU below the Ryzen 9 5900X at $549 and the Ryzen 9 5950X at the sky-high price of $799. The Intel CPU certainly has less power and performance than the Ryzen 9 5950X, but it swoops in at an affordable price point that many budget-orientated enthusiasts will be happy with.
19. Jul 3, 2018. #3. High performance power plan is pretty stupid. All it does is run your cpu at Max clockspeed and doesn't help in performance apart from increasing temperatures. Use balanced, the CPU will automatically speed up if it needs to and slow down at idle, reducing power draw and temperatures.
But I found this guide to be not quite right. Turns out, there is one more thing to do and in this guide, I will show you the ‘last step’ to get Ryzen Balanced plan. With ryzen power plan, 20% min state, idling at 1ghz 0.85v the SoC + Core was 13.5W, when in high performance plan at 4.15ghz 1.45v (pretty much worst case!) it was reading 35W.
